He has searched ¹  the sources ²  of the rivers and what was hidden he has brought into the light.

On that day there will be no light – the sources of light in the heavens will congeal. ¹ 

As for the singers, as well as the pipers – all of them sing within your walls. ¹ 

Guard your heart with all vigilance, ¹  for from it are the sources ²  of life.

The fountains of the deep and the floodgates of heaven were closed, ¹  and the rain stopped falling from the sky.

But its swamps and its marshes will not become fresh; they will remain salty.

The depths ¹  of the sea were exposed; the inner regions ²  of the world were uncovered by the Lord’s battle cry, ³  by the powerful breath from his nose. ⁴ 

For the bed is too short to stretch out on, and the blanket is too narrow to wrap around oneself. ¹ 

Does the snow ever completely vanish from the rocky slopes of Lebanon? Do the cool waters from those distant mountains ever cease to flow? ¹ 

He will pour the water out of his buckets, ¹  and their descendants will be like abundant ²  water; ³  their king will be greater than Agag, ⁴  and their kingdom will be exalted.

The depths ¹  of the sea ²  were exposed; the inner regions ³  of the world were uncovered by ⁴  your battle cry, ⁵  Lord, by the powerful breath from your nose. ⁶ 

At that time ¹  the Lord will whistle for flies from the distant streams of Egypt and for bees from the land of Assyria. ² 

“Son of man, sing a lament for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him: “‘You were like a lion ¹  among the nations, but you are a monster in the seas; you thrash about in your streams, stir up the water with your feet, and muddy your ²  streams.
