In whatever situation someone was called, brothers and sisters, ¹  let him remain in it with God.

Let each one remain in that situation in life ¹  in which he was called.

The men of the city said to Elisha, “Look, the city has a good location, as our ¹  master can see. But the water is bad and the land doesn’t produce crops.” ² 

I have experienced times of need and times of abundance. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of contentment, ¹  whether I go satisfied or hungry, have plenty or nothing.

Therefore I say, ‘Listen ¹  to me. I, even I, will explain what I know.’

who satisfies your life with good things, ¹  so your youth is renewed like an eagle’s. ²

Paul and Barnabas ¹  learned about it ²  and fled to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra ³  and Derbe ⁴  and the surrounding region.

The ¹  disciples said to him, “If this is the case of a husband with a wife, it is better not to marry!”
