Tamar was told, ¹  “Look, your father-in-law is going up ²  to Timnah to shear his sheep.”

While Laban had gone to shear his sheep, ¹  Rachel stole the household idols ²  that belonged to her father.

You must set apart ¹  for the Lord your God every firstborn male born to your herds and flocks. You must not work the firstborn of your bulls or shear the firstborn of your flocks.

So the Lord told Isaiah, “Go out with your son Shear-jashub ¹  and meet Ahaz at the end of the conduit of the upper pool which is located on the road to the field where they wash and dry cloth. ² 

When David heard in the desert that Nabal was shearing his sheep,

A remnant will come back, a remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. ¹ 

You must give them the best of your ¹  grain, new wine, and olive oil, as well as the best of your wool when you shear your flocks.
