Now this phrase “once more” indicates the removal of what is shaken, that is, of created things, so that what is unshaken may remain.

the stars will be falling from heaven, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. ¹ 

The earth is broken in pieces, the earth is ripped to shreds, the earth shakes violently. ¹ 

and the stars in the sky ¹  fell to the earth like a fig tree dropping ²  its unripe figs ³  when shaken by a fierce ⁴  wind.

I am fading away like a shadow at the end of the day; ¹  I am shaken off like a locust.

Suddenly a great earthquake occurred, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. Immediately all the doors flew open, and the bonds ¹  of all the prisoners came loose.

All your fortifications will be like fig trees ¹  with first-ripe fruit: ²  If they are shaken, ³  their figs ⁴  will fall ⁵  into the mouth of the eater! ⁶

For David says about him, ‘I saw the Lord always in front of me, ¹  for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken.

In a moment they die, in the middle of the night, ¹  people ²  are shaken ³  and they pass away. The mighty are removed effortlessly. ⁴ 

that it might seize the corners of the earth, ¹  and shake the wicked out of it?

He alone is my protector ¹  and deliverer. He is my refuge; ²  I will not be upended. ³

Give, and it will be given to you: A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, ¹  will be poured ²  into your lap. For the measure you use will be the measure you receive.” ³ 

So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

When ¹  they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken, ²  and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak ³  the word of God ⁴  courageously. ⁵ 

Then ¹  my enemy will say, “I have defeated him!” Then ²  my foes will rejoice because I am upended.

I constantly trust in the Lord; ¹  because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended.

For he will never be upended; others will always remember one who is just. ¹
