As for your birth, on the day you were born your umbilical cord was not cut, nor were you washed in water; ¹  you were certainly not rubbed down with salt, nor wrapped with blankets. ² 

“Son of man, King Nebuchadrezzar ¹  of Babylon made his army labor hard against Tyre. ²  Every head was rubbed bald and every shoulder rubbed bare; yet he and his army received no wages from Tyre for the work he carried out against it.

Jesus ¹  was going through the grain fields on ²  a Sabbath, ³  and his disciples picked some heads of wheat, ⁴  rubbed them in their hands, and ate them. ⁵ 

Then he is to have the house scraped ¹  all around on the inside, ²  and the plaster ³  which is scraped off ⁴  must be dumped outside the city ⁵  into an unclean place.

Any clay vessel it is boiled in must be broken, and if it was boiled in a bronze vessel, then that vessel ¹  must be rubbed out and rinsed in water.

All day long I feel humiliated ¹  and am overwhelmed with shame, ² 

All the nations surrounded me. ¹  Indeed, in the name of the Lord ²  I pushed them away. ³ 

They surrounded me, yes, they surrounded me. Indeed, in the name of the Lord I pushed them away.

“‘Then I bathed you in water, washed the blood off you, and anointed you with fragrant oil.

And the men ¹  were amazed and said, ²  “What sort of person is this? Even the winds and the sea obey him!” ³ 

When the disciples saw it they were amazed, saying, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?”

“If the infection returns and breaks out in the house after he has pulled out the stones, scraped the house, and it is replastered, ¹ 

They surrounded me like bees. But they disappeared as quickly ¹  as a fire among thorns. ²  Indeed, in the name of the Lord I pushed them away.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and get his inheritance!’

But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and the inheritance will be ours!’

Then ¹  astonishment ²  seized them all, and they glorified ³  God. They were filled with awe, ⁴  saying, “We have seen incredible ⁵  things ⁶  today.” ⁷ 

Having said this, ¹  he spat on the ground and made some mud ²  with the saliva. He ³  smeared the mud on the blind man’s ⁴  eyes

Saul said, “I will give her to him so that she may become a snare to him and the hand of the Philistines may be against him.” So Saul said to David, “Today is the second time for you to become my son-in-law.” ¹ 

O mountains of Gilboa, may there be no dew or rain on you, nor fields of grain offerings! ¹  For it was there that the shield of warriors was defiled; ²  the shield of Saul lies neglected without oil. ³ 

You will plant crops, but will not harvest them; you will squeeze oil from the olives, ¹  but you will have no oil to rub on your bodies; ²  you will squeeze juice from the grapes, but you will have no wine to drink. ³
