Jesus replied, ¹  “Your brother will come back to life again.” ² 

They will flog him severely ¹  and kill him. Yet ²  on the third day he will rise again.”

(For they did not yet understand ¹  the scripture that Jesus ²  must rise from the dead.) ³ 

In the middle of the night I arise ¹  to thank you for your just regulations.

Then he said to them, “Nation will rise up in arms ¹  against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

The heavens reveal his iniquity; the earth rises up against him.

Rise up and help us! Rescue us ¹  because of your loyal love!

Rise up, O judge of the earth! Pay back the proud!

I can see the evildoers! They have fallen! ¹  They have been knocked down and are unable to get up! ² 

For nation will rise up in arms ¹  against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines ²  and earthquakes ³  in various places.

Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

I am up before dawn crying for help. I find hope in your word.

They will mock him, spit on him, flog ¹  him severely, and kill him. Yet ²  after three days, ³  he will rise again.”

Balaam ¹  uttered ²  his oracle, and said, “Rise up, ³  Balak, and hear; Listen to me, son of Zippor:

I beat them ¹  to death; ²  they fall at my feet. ³ 

O Lord, do I not hate those who hate you, and despise those who oppose you? ¹ 

May he rain down ¹  fiery coals upon them! May he throw them into the fire! From bottomless pits they will not escape. ² 

Martha said, ¹  “I know that he will come back to life again ²  in the resurrection at the last day.”

that ¹  the Son of Man must be delivered ²  into the hands of sinful men, ³  and be crucified, ⁴  and on the third day rise again.” ⁵ 

and said to them, “Thus it stands written that the Christ ¹  would suffer ²  and would rise from the dead on the third day,
