Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.

And if we know ¹  that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.

First of all, then, I urge that requests, ¹  prayers, intercessions, and thanks be offered on behalf of all people, ² 

Then we will shout for joy over your ¹  victory; we will rejoice ²  in the name of our God! May the Lord grant all your requests!

At that time ¹  you will ask in my name, and I do not say ²  that I will ask the Father on your behalf.

With every prayer and petition, pray ¹  at all times in the Spirit, and to this end ²  be alert, with all perseverance and requests for all the saints.

A poor person makes supplications, ¹  but a rich man answers harshly. ² 

“May you be attentive ¹  to your servant’s and your people Israel’s requests for help and may you respond to all their prayers to you. ² 

When Solomon finished presenting all these prayers and requests to the Lord, he got up from before the altar of the Lord where he had kneeled and spread out his hands toward the sky. ¹ 

Respond to the requests of your servant and your people Israel for this place. ¹  Hear from your heavenly dwelling place and respond favorably and forgive. ² 

Lord, in the morning ¹  you will hear ²  me; ³  in the morning I will present my case to you ⁴  and then wait expectantly for an answer. ⁵ 

The Lord has heard my appeal for mercy; the Lord has accepted ¹  my prayer.

O Lord, hear my prayer! Pay attention to my plea for mercy!

I always pray with joy in my every prayer for all of you

You did not bring me lambs for your burnt offerings; you did not honor me with your sacrifices. I did not burden you with offerings; I did not make you weary by demanding ¹  incense.

During his earthly life ¹  Christ ²  offered ³  both requests and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death and he was heard because of his devotion.

Only in two things spare me, ¹  O God, ²  and then I will not hide from your face:

Do ¹  not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

As ¹  Jesus ²  approached ³  Jericho, ⁴  a blind man was sitting by the road begging.

and a letter for Asaph the keeper of the king’s nature preserve, ¹  so that he will give me timber for beams for the gates of the fortress adjacent to the temple and for the city wall ²  and for the house to which I go.” So the king granted me these requests, ³  for the good hand of my God was on me.
