Though the Lord is exalted, he takes note of the lowly, and recognizes the proud from far away.

He who watches the wind will not sow, and he who observes the clouds will not reap. ¹ 

It regards iron as straw and bronze as rotten wood.

In regard to the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but in regard to election they are dearly loved for the sake of the fathers.

One person regards one day holier than other days, and another regards them all alike. ¹  Each must be fully convinced in his own mind.

A fool rejects his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds reproof shows good sense. ¹ 

who shows no partiality to princes, and does not take note of ¹  the rich more than the poor, because all of them are the work of his hands?

I, Paul, send this greeting with my own hand.

A righteous person cares for ¹  the life of his animal, but even the most compassionate acts ²  of the wicked are cruel.

The one who neglects ¹  discipline ends up in ²  poverty and shame, but the one who accepts reproof is honored. ³ 

By professing it, some have strayed from the faith. ¹  Grace be with you all. ² 

You also do this: You cover the altar of the Lord with tears ¹  as you weep and groan, because he no longer pays any attention to the offering nor accepts it favorably from you.

Highways are empty, ¹  there are no travelers. ²  Treaties are broken, ³  witnesses are despised, ⁴  human life is treated with disrespect. ⁵ 

where then ¹  is my hope? And my hope, ²  who sees it?

¹ Yet God ²  finds occasions ³  with me; he regards me as his enemy!

when he responds to the prayer of the destitute, ¹  and does not reject ²  their request. ³ 

Give greetings to all the saints in Christ Jesus. The brothers ¹  with me here send greetings.

Indeed, God is mighty; and he does not despise people, ¹  he ²  is mighty, and firm ³  in his intent. ⁴ 

Therefore people fear him, for he does not regard all the wise in heart.” ¹
