One of his disciples, the one Jesus loved, ¹  was at the table ²  to the right of Jesus in a place of honor. ³ 

When ¹  it was evening, he took his place at the table ²  with the twelve. ³ 

(Now none of those present at the table ¹  understood ²  why Jesus ³  said this to Judas. ⁴ 

While they were at the table ¹  eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, ²  one of you eating with me will betray me.” ³ 

Then ¹  Levi gave a great banquet ²  in his house for Jesus, ³  and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting ⁴  at the table with them.

So they prepared a dinner for Jesus ¹  there. Martha ²  was serving, and Lazarus was among those present at the table ³  with him.

Now ¹  while Jesus ²  was in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper, reclining at the table, ³  a woman came with an alabaster jar ⁴  of costly aromatic oil ⁵  from pure nard. After breaking open the jar, she poured it on his head.

Then ¹  when a woman of that town, who was a sinner, learned that Jesus ²  was dining ³  at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar ⁴  of perfumed oil. ⁵ 

As ¹  Jesus ²  was having a meal ³  in Matthew’s ⁴  house, many tax collectors ⁵  and sinners came and ate with Jesus and his disciples.

Then the disciple whom Jesus loved ¹  leaned back against Jesus’ chest and asked him, “Lord, who is it?”

As Jesus ¹  was having a meal ²  in Levi’s ³  home, many tax collectors ⁴  and sinners were eating with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many who followed him.

Then he appeared to the eleven themselves, while they were eating, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen him resurrected.

But ¹  those who were at the table ²  with him began to say among themselves, “Who is this, who even forgives sins?”

When the king returned from the palace garden to the banquet of wine, Haman was throwing himself down ¹  on the couch where Esther was lying. ²  The king exclaimed, “Will he also attempt to rape the queen while I am still in the building!” As these words left the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.

Arrange the table, lay out ¹  the carpet, eat and drink! ²  Get up, you officers, smear oil on the shields! ³ 

a woman came to him with an alabaster jar ¹  of expensive perfumed oil, ²  and she poured it on his head as he was at the table. ³ 

(Now about five thousand men ¹  were there.) ²  Then ³  he said to his disciples, “Have ⁴  them sit down in groups of about fifty each.”

When ¹  one of those at the meal with Jesus ²  heard this, he said to him, “Blessed is everyone ³  who will feast ⁴  in the kingdom of God!” ⁵ 

Then Jesus took the loaves, and when he had given thanks, he distributed the bread to those who were seated. He then did the same with the fish, ¹  as much as they wanted.

Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following them. ¹  (This was the disciple ²  who had leaned back against Jesus’ ³  chest at the meal and asked, ⁴  “Lord, who is the one who is going to betray you?”) ⁵
