The horses’ ¹  hooves pounded the ground; ²  the stallions galloped madly. ³ 

He rained hail down on their cattle, ¹  and hurled lightning bolts down on their livestock. ² 

ו (Vav) He ground ¹  my teeth in gravel; he trampled ²  me in the dust.

Her left ¹  hand reached for the tent peg, her right hand for the workmen’s hammer. She “hammered” ²  Sisera, she shattered his skull, ³  she smashed his head, ⁴  she drove the tent peg through his temple. ⁵

I grind them as fine as the dust of the ground; I crush them and stomp on them like clay ¹  in the streets.

And the people went about and gathered it, and ground it with mills or pounded it in mortars; they baked it in pans and made cakes of it. It tasted like fresh olive oil. ¹ 

As for your sinful thing ¹  that you had made, the calf, I took it, melted it down, ²  ground it up until it was as fine as dust, and tossed the dust into the stream that flows down the mountain.

I listened and my stomach churned; ¹  the sound made my lips quiver. My frame went limp, as if my bones were decaying, ²  and I shook as I tried to walk. ³  I long ⁴  for the day of distress to come upon ⁵  the people who attack us.
