“A noise is heard on the hilltops. It is the sound of the people of Israel crying and pleading to their gods. Indeed they have followed sinful ways; ¹  they have forgotten to be true to the Lord their God. ² 

A ¹  vision appeared to Paul during the night: A Macedonian man was standing there ²  urging him, ³  “Come over ⁴  to Macedonia ⁵  and help us!”

If they do this, tell ¹  them, ‘I was pleading with the king not to send me back to die in the dungeon of Jonathan’s house.’” ² 

Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His plea ¹  through us. We plead with you ²  on Christ’s behalf, “Be reconciled to God!”

O God, listen to my prayer! Pay attention to what I say! ¹ 

When he entered Capernaum, ¹  a centurion ²  came to him asking for help: ³ 

So they came ¹  and woke him up saying, “Lord, save us! We are about to die!”

Then ¹  they asked Jesus ²  to leave their region.

In rage the king arose from the banquet of wine and withdrew to the palace garden. Meanwhile, Haman stood to beg Queen Esther for his life, ¹  for he realized that the king had now determined a catastrophic end for him. ² 

Then the Lord said to me, “Even if Moses and Samuel stood before me pleading for ¹  these people, I would not feel pity for them! ²  Get them away from me! Tell them to go away! ³ 

Who is the one who will condemn? Christ ¹  is the one who died (and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.

Then God took note of ¹  Rachel. He paid attention to her and enabled her to become pregnant. ² 

Hear me, ¹  O Lord, when I cry out! Have mercy on me and answer me!

As for me, I cry out to you, O Lord; in the morning my prayer confronts you.

You heard ¹  my plea: ²  “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief!” ³ 

But the older son ¹  became angry ²  and refused ³  to go in. His father came out and appealed to him,

begging us with great earnestness for the blessing and fellowship of helping ¹  the saints.

My eyes grow weak because of oppression. I call out to you, O Lord, all day long; I spread out my hands in prayer to you. ¹ 

“At that time, ¹  I will willingly respond,” ²  declares the Lord. “I will respond to the sky, and the sky ³  will respond to the ground;

The Lord also has a covenant lawsuit ¹  against Judah; he will punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.
