Then ¹  they came to Jerusalem. ²  Jesus ³  entered the temple area ⁴  and began to drive out those who were selling and buying in the temple courts. ⁵  He turned over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves,

So he made a whip of cords ¹  and drove them all out of the temple courts, ²  with the sheep and the oxen. He scattered the coins of the money changers ³  and overturned their tables.

Then ¹  Jesus entered the temple area ²  and drove out all those who were selling and buying in the temple courts, ³  and turned over the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves.

A total ruin I will make it! ¹  It will come to an end when the one arrives to whom I have assigned judgment.’ ² 

On the flinty rock man has set to work ¹  with his hand; he has overturned mountains at their bases. ² 

They come in as through a wide breach; amid the crash ¹  they come rolling in. ² 

You have brought to an end his splendor, ¹  and have knocked ²  his throne to the ground.

The wicked are overthrown ¹  and perish, ²  but the righteous household ³  will stand.

Righteousness ¹  guards the one who lives with integrity, ²  but wickedness ³  overthrows the sinner.

The household ¹  of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent ²  of the upright will flourish.

ר (Resh) Look, O Lord! I am distressed; ¹  my stomach is in knots! ²  My heart is pounding ³  inside me. Yes, I was terribly rebellious! ⁴  Out in the street the sword bereaves a mother of her children; ⁵  Inside the house death is present. ⁶ 

If he holds back the waters, then they dry up; ¹  if he releases them, ²  they destroy ³  the land.

The earth, from which food comes, is overturned below as though by fire; ¹ 

and tossed ¹  Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea, for his loyal love endures,

A city is exalted by the blessing provided from ¹  the upright, but it is destroyed by the counsel ²  of the wicked. ³ 

The wicked will be thrown down in his trouble, ¹  but the righteous have refuge ²  even in the threat of death. ³ 

The Righteous One ¹  considers ²  the house ³  of the wicked; he overthrows the wicked to their ruin. ⁴ 

The eyes of the Lord ¹  guard knowledge, ²  but he overthrows the words of the faithless person. ³ 

When Gideon arrived, he heard a man telling another man about a dream he had. ¹  The man ²  said, “Look! I had a dream. I saw ³  a stale cake of barley bread rolling into the Midianite camp. It hit a tent so hard it knocked it over and turned it upside down. The tent just collapsed.” ⁴ 

Rather you must destroy their altars, smash their images, and cut down their Asherah poles. ¹
