You must observe this event as an ordinance for you and for your children forever.

so that they might keep his commands and obey ¹  his laws. Praise the Lord!

Be careful to observe ¹  the Sabbath day just as the Lord your God has commanded you.

Give me your heart, my son, ¹  and let your eyes observe my ways;

Give me understanding so that I might observe your law, and keep it with all my heart. ¹ 

and are advocating ¹  customs that are not lawful for us to accept ²  or practice, ³  since we are ⁴  Romans.”

You are observing religious ¹  days and months and seasons and years.

So you will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because on this very ¹  day I brought your regiments ²  out from the land of Egypt, and so you must keep this day perpetually as a lasting ordinance. ³ 

The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.

You must be sure to obey all my statutes and regulations. ¹  I am the Lord.’”

Furthermore, remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and so be careful to observe these statutes.

Therefore pay attention to what they tell you and do it. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they teach. ¹

You see ¹  many things, but don’t comprehend; ²  their ears are open, but do not hear.”

Observe the month Abib ¹  and keep the Passover to the Lord your God, for in that month ²  he ³  brought you out of Egypt by night.

“You must observe ¹  the Feast of Weeks – the firstfruits of the harvest of wheat – and the Feast of Ingathering at the end ²  of the year.

“Remember ¹  the Sabbath ²  day to set it apart as holy. ³ 

Be certain to keep all the statutes and ordinances that I am presenting to you today.

“Are you acquainted with the way ¹  the mountain goats ²  give birth? Do you watch as the wild deer give birth to their young?

“‘If, however, ¹  you do not obey me and keep ²  all these commandments –
