All who pass by ¹  have robbed him; he has become an object of disdain to his neighbors.

We have become an object of disdain to our neighbors; those who live on our borders taunt and insult us. ¹ 

Pay back our neighbors in full! ¹  May they be insulted the same way they insulted you, O Lord! ² 

You made us ¹  an object of disdain to our neighbors; those who live on our borders taunt and insult us. ² 

You have made our neighbors dislike us, ¹  and our enemies insult us.

He said, “Go and ask all your neighbors for empty containers. ¹  Get as many as you can. ² 

Her ¹  neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown ²  great mercy to her, and they rejoiced ³  with her.

Returning ¹  home, he calls together ²  his ³  friends and neighbors, telling them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost.’

Then ¹  when she has found it, she calls together her ²  friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice ³  with me, for I have found the coin ⁴  that I had lost.’

“You shall not covet ¹  your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.” ² 

Do not drag me away with evil men, with those who behave wickedly, ¹  who talk so friendly to their neighbors, ²  while they plan to harm them! ³ 

Then the neighbors and the people who had seen him previously ¹  as a beggar began saying, ²  “Is this not the man ³  who used to sit and beg?”

If my heart has been enticed by a woman, and I have lain in wait at my neighbor’s door, ¹ 

Don’t set foot too frequently ¹  in your neighbor’s house, lest he become weary ²  of you and hate you.

They are like lusty, well-fed ¹  stallions. Each of them lusts after ²  his neighbor’s wife.

You must not desire ¹  another man’s ²  wife, nor should you crave his ³  house, his field, his male and female servants, his ox, his donkey, or anything else he owns.” ⁴ 

Three days after they made the treaty with them, the Israelites found out they were from the local area and lived nearby. ¹ 

You engaged in prostitution with the Egyptians, your sexually aroused neighbors, ¹  multiplying your promiscuity and provoking me to anger.

“You who force your neighbor to drink wine ¹  are as good as dead ²  – you who make others intoxicated by forcing them to drink from the bowl of your furious anger, ³  so you can look at their genitals. ⁴ 

When you go into the ripe grain fields of your neighbor you may pluck off the kernels with your hand, ¹  but you must not use a sickle on your neighbor’s ripe grain.
