But as for me, my feet almost slipped; my feet almost slid out from under me. ¹ 

(Now the Jewish feast of the Passover ¹  was near.) ² 

Now ¹  a great windstorm ²  developed and the waves were breaking into the boat, so that the boat was nearly swamped.

but they urged him, ¹  “Stay with us, because it is getting toward evening and the day is almost done.” So ²  he went in to stay with them.

In fact he became so ill that he nearly died. ¹  But God showed mercy to him – and not to him only, but also to me – so that I would not have grief on top of grief.

since it was because of the work of Christ that he almost died. He risked his life so that he could make up for your inability to serve me. ¹ 

Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

The city remained under siege until King Zedekiah’s eleventh year.
