Of what importance is the human race, ¹  that you should notice ²  them? Of what importance is mankind, ³  that you should pay attention to them, ⁴ 

Instead someone testified somewhere: “What is man that you think of him ¹  or the son of man that you care for him?

The Lord takes notice of us, ¹  he will bless ²  – he will bless the family ³  of Israel, he will bless the family of Aaron.

He gives ¹  food to his faithful followers; ²  he always remembers his covenant. ³ 

Remember ¹  continually his covenantal decree, the promise he made ²  to a thousand generations –

For the one who takes revenge against murderers took notice of the oppressed; ¹  he did not overlook ²  their cry for help ³

As I remember your tears, I long to see you, ¹  so that I may be filled with joy.

They refused to obey and did not recall your miracles that you had performed among them. Instead, they rebelled and appointed a leader to return to their bondage in Egypt. ¹  But you are a God of forgiveness, merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and unfailing in your loyal love. ²  You did not abandon them,

For you ignore ¹  the God who rescues you; you pay no attention to your strong protector. ²  So this is what happens: You cultivate beautiful plants and plant exotic vines. ³ 

I want you to recall ¹  both ²  the predictions ³  foretold by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior through your apostles. ⁴ 

For he fulfills his decree against me, ¹  and many such things are his plans. ² 

For he knows what we are made of; ¹  he realizes ²  we are made of clay. ³ 

Remember ¹  your compassionate and faithful deeds, O Lord, for you have always acted in this manner. ² 

O Lord, of what importance is the human race, ¹  that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, ²  that you should be concerned about them? ³ 

Carrying out a wicked scheme ¹  is enjoyable ²  to a fool, and so is wisdom for the one who has discernment. ³ 

But remember the former days when you endured a harsh conflict of suffering after you were enlightened.

In fact, if they had been thinking of the land that they had left, they would have had opportunity to return.

For this finds God’s favor, ¹  if because of conscience toward God ²  someone endures hardships in suffering unjustly.

For ¹  this is the love of God: ²  that we keep his commandments. ³  And his commandments do not weigh us down,
