They ¹  have testified to your love before the church. ²  You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God. ³ 

They contacted ¹  me four times in this way, and I responded the same way each time. ² 

He wrote ¹  a letter that went like this: ² 

And do everything in a decent and orderly manner.

He then presented the burnt offering, and did it according to the standard regulation. ¹ 

Now all the Jews know the way I lived ¹  from my youth, spending my life from the beginning among my own people ²  and in Jerusalem. ³ 

On the seventh day they were up at the crack of dawn ¹  and marched around the city as before – only this time they marched around it seven times. ² 

“Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Will you defile yourselves like your fathers ¹  and engage in prostitution with detestable idols?

For this reason, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

Then he turned from those who were nearby to someone else and asked the same question, ¹  but they ²  gave him the same answer as before.

“I, the Lord, say: ¹  ‘This shows how ²  I will ruin the highly exalted position ³  in which Judah and Jerusalem ⁴  take pride.

and then the third married her, and in this same way all seven died, leaving no children.

You, however, ¹  have followed my teaching, my ²  way of life, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my endurance,

The Lord said, ‘Who will deceive Ahab, so he will attack Ramoth Gilead and die ¹  there?’ One said this and another that.

But upright men will punish them appropriately for their adultery and bloodshed, ¹  because they are adulteresses and blood is on their hands.

When Saul’s servants reported what David had said,

But they ¹  pay no attention; instead they observe their earlier practices.

So pray this way: ¹  Our Father ²  in heaven, may your name be honored, ³ 

But Jesus ¹  turned and rebuked them, ² 

Only conduct yourselves ¹  in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ so that – whether I come and see you or whether I remain absent – I should hear that ²  you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind, by contending side by side for the faith of the gospel, ³
