any kind of land animal, any bird that flies in the sky,

anything that crawls ¹  on the ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth. ² 

To whom can you compare God? To what image can you liken him?

Above the platform over their heads was something like a sapphire shaped like a throne. High above on the throne was a form that appeared to be a man.

This is the record ¹  of the family line ²  of Adam. When God created humankind, ³  he made them ⁴  in the likeness of God.

And this is even clearer if another priest arises in the likeness of Melchizedek,

but emptied himself by taking on the form of a slave, ¹  by looking like other men, ²  and by sharing in human nature. ³ 

When ¹  Adam had lived 130 years he fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image, and he named him Seth.

In the fire ¹  were what looked like ²  four living beings. ³  In their appearance they had human form, ⁴ 

For if we have become united with him in the likeness of his death, we will certainly also be united in the likeness of his resurrection. ¹ 

I say this ¹  so you will not corrupt yourselves by making an image in the form of any kind of figure. This includes the likeness of a human male or female,

As for me, because I am innocent I will see your face; ¹  when I awake you will reveal yourself to me. ² 

and to put on the new man who has been created in God’s image ¹  – in righteousness and holiness that comes from truth. ² 

Jesus ¹  said to them, “Whose image ²  is this, and whose inscription?”

With it we bless the Lord ¹  and Father, and with it we curse people ²  made in God’s image.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image ¹  or any likeness ²  of anything ³  that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water below. ⁴ 

As for their appearance, all four of them looked the same, something like a wheel within a wheel. ¹ 

Over the heads of the living beings was something like a platform, ¹  glittering awesomely like ice, ²  stretched out over their heads.

Then God said, “Let us make ¹  humankind ²  in our image, after our likeness, ³  so they may rule ⁴  over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, ⁵  and over all the creatures that move ⁶  on the earth.”

You must not make for yourself an image ¹  of anything in heaven above, on earth below, or in the waters beneath. ²
