For I am overcome with shame ¹  and my whole body is sick. ² 

My heart beats violently ¹  within me; the horrors of death overcome me. ² 

Yes, ¹  my spirit was bitter, ²  and my insides felt sharp pain. ³ 

my anxiety intensified. ¹  As I thought about it, I became impatient. ²  Finally I spoke these words: ³ 

Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup, ¹  so that the outside may become clean too!

כ (Kaf) My eyes are worn out ¹  from weeping; ²  my stomach is in knots. ³  My heart ⁴  is poured out on the ground due to the destruction ⁵  of my helpless people; ⁶  children and infants faint in the town squares.

How can I give you up, ¹  O Ephraim? How can I surrender you, O Israel? How can I treat you like Admah? How can I make you like Zeboiim? I have had a change of heart! ²  All my tender compassions are aroused! ³ 

“Woe to you, experts in the law ¹  and you Pharisees, hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.

But the Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees clean ¹  the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside you are full of greed and wickedness. ² 

“You are to take from the ram the fat, the fat tail, the fat that covers the entrails, the lobe ¹  of the liver, the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and the right thigh – for it is the ram for consecration ²  –
