For I passed on to you as of first importance ¹  what I also received – that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures,

Of what importance is the human race, ¹  that you should notice ²  them? Of what importance is mankind, ³  that you should pay attention to them, ⁴ 

O Lord, of what importance is the human race, ¹  that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, ²  that you should be concerned about them? ³ 

The sluggard is wiser in his own estimation ¹  than seven people who respond with good sense. ²

But as it is, ¹  you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

nor to occupy themselves with myths and interminable genealogies. ¹  Such things promote useless speculations rather than God’s redemptive plan ²  that operates by faith.

(Now the Lord granted the people favor with ¹  the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, respected by Pharaoh’s servants and by the Egyptian people.) ² 

You are offering improper sacrifices on my altar, yet you ask, ‘How have we offended you?’ By treating the table ¹  of the Lord as if it is of no importance!

For some time ago ¹  Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody, and about four hundred men joined him. He ²  was killed, and all who followed him were dispersed and nothing came of it. ³
