Those who trust in idols will turn back and be utterly humiliated, ¹  those who say to metal images, ‘You are our gods.’”

He followed in the footsteps of ¹  the kings of Israel; he also made images of the Baals.

Look, all of them are nothing, ¹  their accomplishments are nonexistent; their metal images lack any real substance. ² 

You will desecrate your silver-plated idols ¹  and your gold-plated images. ²  You will throw them away as if they were a menstrual rag, saying to them, “Get out!”

He ordered the altars of the Baals to be torn down, ¹  and broke the incense altars that were above them. He smashed the Asherah poles, idols and images, crushed them up and sprinkled the dust over the tombs of those who had sacrificed to them.

You will pick up your images ¹  of Sikkuth, ²  your king, ³  and Kiyyun, ⁴  your star god, which you made for yourselves,

I will remove your idols and sacred pillars from your midst; you will no longer worship what your own hands made.

All who worship idols are ashamed, those who boast about worthless idols. All the gods bow down before him. ¹

They put the ark of the Lord on the cart, along with the chest, the gold mice, and the images of the sores.

he tore down the altars and Asherah poles, demolished the idols, and smashed all the incense altars throughout the land of Israel. Then he returned to Jerusalem.

Now Ehud had escaped while they were delaying. When he passed the carved images, he escaped to Seirah.

They made him angry with their pagan shrines, ¹  and made him jealous with their idols.
