“‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: “‘I will throw my net over you ¹  in the assembly of many peoples; and they will haul you up in my dragnet.

He told them, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” ¹  So they threw the net, ²  and were not able to pull it in because of the large number of fish.

“I will lead them off to be slaughtered like lambs, rams, and male goats.” ¹ 

Why do you contend against him, that he does not answer all a person’s ¹  words?

“Will the one who contends ¹  with the Almighty correct him? ²  Let the person who accuses God give him an answer!”

How long must your servant endure this? ¹  When will you judge those who pursue me?

Do not sit in judgment on ¹  your servant, for no one alive is innocent before you. ² 

We will seize ¹  all kinds ²  of precious wealth; we will fill our houses with plunder. ³ 

Those who pull evil along using cords of emptiness are as good as dead, ¹  who pull sin as with cart ropes. ² 

Bring out some water for the thirsty. You who live in the land of Tema, bring some food for the fugitives.

And you will be brought before governors and kings ¹  because of me, as a witness to them and the Gentiles.

When ¹  they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets started to tear. ² 

For ¹  Peter ²  and all who were with him were astonished ³  at the catch of fish that they had taken,

My servants will bring the timber down from Lebanon to the sea. I will send it by sea in raft-like bundles to the place you designate. ¹  There I will separate the logs ²  and you can carry them away. In exchange you will supply the food I need for my royal court.” ³ 

Why ¹  have you brought up the Lord’s community into this wilderness? So that ²  we and our cattle should die here?

Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. ¹  Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.” ² 

May death destroy them! ¹  May they go down alive into Sheol! ²  For evil is in their dwelling place and in their midst.

I will bring you into the wilderness of the nations, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face.

When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and lower ¹  your nets for a catch.”

The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw ¹  water.” ²
