A ¹  spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams; ²  it throws him into convulsions ³  and causes him to foam at the mouth. It hardly ever leaves him alone, torturing ⁴  him severely.

When he had finished ¹  speaking ²  all these words, the ground that was under them split open,

If I smiled at them, they hardly believed it; ¹  and they did not cause the light of my face to darken. ² 

How, sir, am I able to speak with you? ¹  My strength is gone, ²  and I am breathless.”

Is not your wickedness great ¹  and is there no end to your iniquity?

I am so starved my knees shake; ¹  I have turned into skin and bones. ² 

This is the Lord’s work. We consider it amazing! ¹ 

When they saw the star they shouted joyfully. ¹ 

But they went out and spread the news about him throughout that entire region. ¹ 

Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, I tell you, but seventy-seven times! ¹ 

This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes’?” ¹ 

So he came down quickly ¹  and welcomed Jesus ²  joyfully. ³ 

For the creation eagerly waits for the revelation of the sons of God.

Now Israel’s eyes were failing ¹  because of his age; he was not able to see well. So Joseph ²  brought his sons ³  near to him, and his father ⁴  kissed them and embraced them.

But when they gazed intently ¹  from a distance but did not recognize ²  him, they began to weep loudly. Each of them tore his robes, and they threw dust into the air over their heads. ³ 

‘We ¹  are ashamed because we have been insulted. ²  Our faces show our disgrace. ³  For foreigners have invaded the holy rooms ⁴  in the Lord’s temple.’

Jonathan replied ¹  to Adonijah: “No! ²  Our master ³  King David has made Solomon king.

The king responded to the people harshly. He rejected the advice of the older men

“But ¹  if I speak, my pain is not relieved, ²  and if I refrain from speaking – how ³  much of it goes away?

My eyes have grown dim ¹  with grief; my whole frame ²  is but a shadow.
