“You, son of man, sing a lament for Tyre. ¹ 

Listen to this funeral song I am ready to sing about you, ¹  family ²  of Israel:

‘We played the flute for you, yet you did not dance; ¹  we wailed in mourning, ²  yet you did not weep.’

As they wail they will lament over you, chanting: “Who was like Tyre, like a tower ¹  in the midst of the sea?”

Chariots and horsemen also went up with him, so it was a very large entourage. ¹ 

Then David chanted this lament over Saul and his son Jonathan.
