Then what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was fulfilled:

How then would the scriptures that say it must happen this way be fulfilled?”

Then ¹  he began to tell them, “Today ²  this scripture has been fulfilled even as you heard it being read.” ³ 

so that what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet would be fulfilled: ¹ 

For I tell you, I will not eat it again ¹  until it is fulfilled ²  in the kingdom of God.” ³ 

For these things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled, “Not a bone of his will be broken.” ¹ 

because these are days of vengeance, ¹  to fulfill ²  all that is written.

Hope ¹  deferred ²  makes the heart sick, ³  but a longing fulfilled ⁴  is like ⁵  a tree of life.

He came to a town called Nazareth ¹  and lived there. Then what had been spoken by the prophets was fulfilled, that Jesus ²  would be called a Nazarene. ³ 

But the things God foretold ¹  long ago through ²  all the prophets – that his Christ ³  would suffer – he has fulfilled in this way.

Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Now Abraham believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness,” ¹  and he was called God’s friend. ² 

This fulfilled what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet: ¹ 

But this has happened so that ¹  the scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

He ¹  said, “The time is fulfilled and the kingdom of God ²  is near. Repent and believe the gospel!”

Day after day I was with you, teaching in the temple courts, yet ¹  you did not arrest me. But this has happened so that ²  the scriptures would be fulfilled.”

“Brothers, ¹  the scripture had to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit foretold through ²  David concerning Judas – who became the guide for those who arrested Jesus –

Now ¹  many have undertaken to compile an account ²  of the things ³  that have been fulfilled ⁴  among us,
