But the things God foretold ¹  long ago through ²  all the prophets – that his Christ ³  would suffer – he has fulfilled in this way.

And all the prophets, from Samuel and those who followed him, have spoken about and announced ¹  these days.

“Brothers, ¹  the scripture had to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit foretold through ²  David concerning Judas – who became the guide for those who arrested Jesus –

But you, dear friends – recall the predictions ¹  foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. ² 

Which of the prophets did your ancestors ¹  not persecute? ²  They ³  killed those who foretold long ago the coming of the Righteous One, ⁴  whose betrayers and murderers you have now become! ⁵ 

until the time when his prediction ¹  came true. The Lord’s word ²  proved him right. ³ 

Now Daniel lived on until the first ¹  year of Cyrus the king.

As for peres ¹  – your kingdom is divided and given over to the Medes and Persians.”

Be careful! I have told you everything ahead of time.

Finally ¹  the Lord rejected Israel ²  just as he had warned he would do ³  through all his servants the prophets. Israel was deported from its land to Assyria and remains there to this very day.

All of you, gather together and listen! Who among them ¹  announced these things? The Lord’s ally ²  will carry out his desire against Babylon; he will exert his power against the Babylonians. ³ 

The ark of God was taken, and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phineas, were killed.

I, I have spoken – yes, I have summoned him; I lead him and he will succeed. ¹ 

and that he was buried, and that he was raised ¹  on the third day according to the scriptures,

All nations gather together, the peoples assemble. Who among them announced this? Who predicted earlier events for us? ¹  Let them produce their witnesses to testify they were right; let them listen and affirm, ‘It is true.’

These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names by their settlements and their camps – twelve princes ¹  according to their clans.

“I announced events beforehand, ¹  I issued the decrees and made the predictions; ²  suddenly I acted and they came to pass.

Then the Lord said, “This means ¹  destruction will break out from the north on all who live in the land.

Just ¹  as Isaiah predicted, “If the Lord of armies ²  had not left us descendants, we would have become like Sodom, and we would have resembled Gomorrah.” ³
