A wise child ¹  brings joy to his father, but a foolish person ²  despises ³  his mother.

A foolish child is a grief ¹  to his father, and bitterness to the mother who bore him. ² 

The people of those nations ¹  are both stupid and foolish. Instruction from a wooden idol is worthless! ² 

Five ¹  of the virgins ²  were foolish, and five were wise.

When ¹  the foolish ones took their lamps, they did not take extra ²  olive oil ³  with them.

But reject foolish and ignorant ¹  controversies, because you know they breed infighting. ² 

The Proverbs of Solomon: A wise child ²  makes a father rejoice, ³  but a foolish child ⁴  is a grief to his mother. ⁵ 

The ¹  foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, because our lamps are going out.’

But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, ¹  quarrels, and fights about the law, ²  because they are useless and empty.

For God wants you ¹  to silence the ignorance of foolish people by doing good.

For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise ¹  by understanding ²  what the Lord’s will is.

Every wise woman ¹  builds ²  her household, ³  but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

A foolish child ¹  is the ruin of his father, and a contentious wife ²  is like ³  a constant dripping. ⁴ 

Are you so foolish? Although you began ¹  with ²  the Spirit, are you now trying to finish ³  by human effort? ⁴ 

A poor but wise youth is better than an old and foolish king who no longer knows how to receive advice.

Remember how ¹  the enemy hurls insults, O Lord, ²  and how a foolish nation blasphemes your name!

There is desirable treasure and olive oil ¹  in the dwelling of the wise, but a foolish person ²  devours all he has. ³ 

an educator of the senseless, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the essential features of knowledge and of the truth –

Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting – all of which are out of character – but rather thanksgiving.

For ¹  wrath kills the foolish person, ²  and anger ³  slays the silly one.
