A ¹  large herd of pigs was feeding some distance from them.

There on the hillside, ¹  a great herd of pigs was feeding.

and a messenger came to Job, saying, “The oxen were plowing ¹  and the donkeys were grazing beside them,

Now a large herd of pigs was feeding there on the hillside, ¹  and the demonic spirits ²  begged Jesus ³  to let them go into them. He gave them permission. ⁴ 

Where now is the den of the lions, ¹  the feeding place ²  of the young lions, where ³  the lion, lioness, ⁴  and lion cub once prowled ⁵  and no one disturbed them? ⁶ 

This is what the sovereign Lord says: Look, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand my sheep from their hand. I will no longer let them be shepherds; ¹  the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore. I will rescue my sheep from their mouth, so that they will no longer be food for them.

So he humbled you by making you hungry and then feeding you with unfamiliar manna. ¹  He did this to teach you ²  that humankind ³  cannot live by bread ⁴  alone, but also by everything that comes from the Lord’s mouth. ⁵ 

“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds ¹  of Israel; prophesy, and say to them – to the shepherds: ‘This is what the sovereign Lord says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not shepherds feed the flock?

These men are ¹  dangerous reefs ²  at your love feasts, ³  feasting without reverence, ⁴  feeding only themselves. ⁵  They are ⁶  waterless ⁷  clouds, carried along by the winds; autumn trees without fruit ⁸  – twice dead, ⁹  uprooted;

do not boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

Is the wild ox willing to be your servant? Will it spend the night at your feeding trough?

He gives food to the animals, and to the young ravens when they chirp. ¹ 

He replied, “I’m looking for my brothers. Please tell ¹  me where they are grazing their flocks.”

Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is clean, but an abundant harvest is produced by strong oxen. ¹ 

Better is one handful with some rest than two hands full of toil ¹  and chasing the wind.

Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of the gazelle grazing among the lilies.

There are also two olive trees beside it, one on the right of the receptacle and the other on the left.” ¹ 

¹  although we could have imposed our weight as apostles of Christ; instead we became ²  little children ³  among you. Like a nursing mother caring for her own children,

The servant in charge ¹  brought the men into Joseph’s house. He gave them water, and they washed their feet. Then he gave food to their donkeys.

The sword will make people childless outside, and terror will do so inside; they will destroy ¹  both the young man and the virgin, the infant and the gray-haired man.
