But when the man ¹  heard this he became very sad, ²  for he was extremely wealthy.

I ¹  was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my contemporaries in my nation, ²  and was ³  extremely zealous for the traditions of my ancestors. ⁴ 

Now the famine was severe in the land. ¹ 

(Now Abram was very wealthy ¹  in livestock, silver, and gold.) ² 

(Now ¹  the people ²  of Sodom were extremely wicked rebels against the Lord.) ³ 

The Lord abhors ¹  dishonest scales, ²  but an accurate weight ³  is his elight.

There are four things on earth that are small, ¹  but they are exceedingly wise: ² 

When he came to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes, ¹  two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were extremely violent, so that no one was able to pass by that way.

I will make you ¹  extremely ²  fruitful. I will make nations of you, and kings will descend from you. ³ 

So the Lord said, “The outcry against ¹  Sodom and Gomorrah is so great and their sin so blatant ² 

Moreover, he said to me, “I have taken note of these people; they are a stubborn ¹  lot!

You know, for you were born before them; ¹  and the number of your days is great!

for one who goes astray ¹  is an abomination ²  to the Lord, but he reveals ³  his intimate counsel ⁴  to the upright.

The Lord abhors ¹  those who are perverse in heart, ²  but those who are blameless in their ways ³  are his delight. ⁴ 

The Lord ¹  abhors a person who lies, ²  but those who deal truthfully ³  are his delight. ⁴ 

The Lord abhors ¹  the way of the wicked, but he loves those ²  who pursue ³  righteousness.

Look, you are nothing, and your accomplishments are nonexistent; the one who chooses to worship you is disgusting. ¹ 

Now ¹  when it was noon, ²  darkness came over the whole land ³  until three in the afternoon. ⁴ 

But ¹  when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled back.

Your father Abraham was overjoyed ¹  to see my day, and he saw it and was glad.” ²
