Now the famine was severe in the land. ¹ 

Sarah’s demand displeased Abraham greatly because Ishmael was his son. ¹ 

So ¹  I made up my own mind ²  not to pay you another painful visit. ³ 

But understand this, that in the last days difficult ¹  times will come.

I have received a distressing message: ¹  “The deceiver deceives, the destroyer destroys. Attack, you Elamites! Lay siege, you Medes! I will put an end to all the groaning!” ² 

When the people heard this troubling word ¹  they mourned; ²  no one put on his ornaments.

Now the Spirit of the Lord had turned away from Saul, and an evil spirit ¹  from the Lord tormented him.

Then Saul’s servants said to him, “Look, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you!”

For he had healed many, so that all who were afflicted with diseases pressed toward him in order to touch him.

And he ¹  brought signs and great, devastating wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on his whole family ²  before our very eyes.

when what you dread ¹  comes like a whirlwind, ²  and disaster strikes you ³  like a devastating storm, ⁴  when distressing trouble ⁵  comes on you.

So I loathed ¹  life ²  because what happens ³  on earth ⁴  seems awful to me; for all the benefits of wisdom ⁵  are futile – like chasing the wind.

Indeed they will climb the slopes of Luhith, weeping continually as they go. ¹  For on the road down to Horonaim they will hear the cries of distress over the destruction. ² 

At once the bleeding stopped, ¹  and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease.

He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. ¹  Go in peace, and be healed of your disease.”

At that very time ¹  Jesus ²  cured many people of diseases, sicknesses, ³  and evil spirits, and granted ⁴  sight to many who were blind.

In humiliation ¹  justice was taken from him. ²  Who can describe his posterity? ³  For his life was taken away ⁴  from the earth.” ⁵ 

And I want you to be free from concern. An unmarried man is concerned about the things of the Lord, how to please the Lord.

who must be silenced because they mislead whole families by teaching for dishonest gain what ought not to be taught.

While the famine was over all the earth, ¹  Joseph opened the storehouses ²  and sold grain to the Egyptians. The famine was severe throughout the land of Egypt.
