Fathers, ¹  do not provoke ²  your children, so they will not become disheartened.

He will not grow dim or be crushed ¹  before establishing justice on the earth; the coastlands ²  will wait in anticipation for his decrees.” ³ 

When ¹  they went up to the Eshcol Valley and saw the land, they frustrated the intent of the Israelites so that they did not enter ²  the land that the Lord had given ³  them.

Then the local people ¹  began to discourage ²  the people of Judah and to dishearten them from building.

Look, he ¹  has placed the land in front of you! ²  Go up, take possession of it, just as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, said to do. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

Then they traveled from Mount Hor by the road to the Red Sea, ¹  to go around the land of Edom, but the people ²  became impatient along the way.

But now the same thing ¹  comes to you, and you are discouraged; ²  it strikes you, and you are terrified. ³ 

Therefore, since we have this ministry, just as God has shown us mercy, ¹  we do not become discouraged. ² 

The Lord is indeed going before you – he will be with you; he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

I repeat, ¹  be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, ²  for I, the Lord your God, am with you in all you do.” ³ 

When I catch up with ¹  him he will be exhausted and worn out. ²  I will rout him, and the entire army that is with him will flee. I will kill only the king

Then Joshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! ¹  Be strong and brave, for the Lord will do the same thing to all your enemies you fight.

And have you forgotten the exhortation addressed to you as sons? “My son, do not scorn ¹  the Lord’s discipline or give up when he corrects ²  you.

But as for you, be strong and don’t get discouraged, ¹  for your work will be rewarded.” ² 

If I smiled at them, they hardly believed it; ¹  and they did not cause the light of my face to darken. ² 

I will boast ¹  in the Lord; let the oppressed hear and rejoice! ² 

The Lord is near the brokenhearted; he delivers ¹  those who are discouraged. ²
