And above the ark ¹  were the cherubim ²  of glory overshadowing the mercy seat. Now is not the time to speak of these things in detail.

When Paul ¹  had greeted them, he began to explain ²  in detail ³  what God ⁴  had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

In the eleventh year, in the month Bul ¹  (the eighth month) the temple was completed in accordance with all its specifications and blueprints. It took seven years to build. ² 

I will denounce your so-called righteousness and your deeds, ¹  but they will not help you.

I spelled out my law for him in great detail, but they regard it as something totally unknown ¹  to them!

Consider its defenses! ¹  Walk through ²  its fortresses, so you can tell the next generation about it! ³ 

So ¹  it seemed good to me as well, ²  because I have followed ³  all things carefully from the beginning, to write an orderly account ⁴  for you, most excellent Theophilus,

The heavens and the earth ¹  were completed with everything that was in them. ²

and when he had explained everything to them, he sent them to Joppa.

Surely you recall ¹  that I used to tell you these things while I was still with you.

There are many other things that Jesus did. If every one of them were written down, ¹  I suppose the whole world ²  would not have room for the books that would be written. ³ 

So they were sent on their way by the church, and as they passed through both Phoenicia ¹  and Samaria, they were relating at length ²  the conversion of the Gentiles and bringing great joy ³  to all the brothers.

He replied, ¹  “The Jews have agreed to ask you to bring Paul down to the council ²  tomorrow, as if they were going to inquire more thoroughly about him.

Let no one who delights in humility and the worship of angels pass judgment on you. That person goes on at great lengths ¹  about what he has supposedly seen, but he is puffed up with empty notions by his fleshly mind. ² 

“Therefore, keep the terms ¹  of this covenant and obey them so that you may be successful in everything you do.

I would give him an accounting of my steps; like a prince I would approach him.
