When ¹  he was twelve years old, ²  they went up ³  according to custom.

he was chosen by lot, according to the custom of the priesthood, ¹  to enter ²  the holy place ³  of the Lord and burn incense.

But it is your custom that I release one prisoner ¹  for you at the Passover. ²  So do you want me to release for you the king of the Jews?”

So the Jews committed themselves to continue what they had begun to do and to what Mordecai had written to them.
