for which I suffer hardship to the point of imprisonment ¹  as a criminal, but God’s message ²  is not imprisoned! ³ 

They replied, ¹  “If this man ²  were not a criminal, ³  we would not have handed him over to you.” ⁴ 

But let none of you suffer as a murderer or thief or criminal or as a troublemaker. ¹ 

Jesus said to them, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹ 

But the other rebuked him, saying, ¹  “Don’t ²  you fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? ³ 

For I would have committed ¹  a shameful act, ²  an iniquity to be judged. ³ 

When ¹  the disciples saw this, they became indignant and said, “Why this waste?

At that time they had in custody a notorious prisoner named Jesus ¹  Barabbas.

Then they shouted back, ¹  “Not this man, ²  but Barabbas!” ³  (Now Barabbas was a revolutionary. ⁴ ) ⁵ 

Why do you people ¹  think ²  it is unbelievable ³  that ⁴  God raises the dead?

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹  Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet ²  you did not arrest me.

Then ¹  Jesus said to the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, ²  and the elders who had come out to get him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs like you would against an outlaw? ³ 

The one who despises his neighbor sins, but whoever is kind to the needy is blessed.

Above ¹  his head they put the charge against him, ²  which read: ³  “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

But some who were present indignantly said to one another, “Why this waste of expensive ¹  ointment?

I found he ¹  was accused with reference to controversial questions ²  about their law, but no charge against him deserved death or imprisonment. ³ 

other than ¹  this one thing ²  I shouted out while I stood before ³  them: ‘I am on trial before you today concerning the resurrection of the dead.’” ⁴ 

“So,” he said, “let your leaders ¹  go down there ²  with me, and if this man has done anything wrong, ³  they may bring charges ⁴  against him.”

He humbled himself, by becoming obedient to the point of death – even death on a cross!

Jacob became angry ¹  and argued with Laban. “What did I do wrong?” he demanded of Laban. ²  “What sin of mine prompted you to chase after me in hot pursuit? ³
