When the living beings moved, the wheels beside them moved; when the living beings rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up too.

The living beings moved backward and forward as quickly as flashes of lightning. ¹ 

Then I looked, ¹  and I saw one wheel ²  on the ground ³  beside each of the four beings.

In the middle ¹  of the living beings was something like ²  burning coals of fire ³  or like torches. It moved back and forth among the living beings. It was bright, and lightning was flashing out of the fire.

And the four living creatures were saying “Amen,” and the elders threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped.

and a third of the creatures ¹  living in the sea died, and a third of the ships were completely destroyed. ² 

Praise the Lord from the earth, you sea creatures and all you ocean depths,

But any creatures that do not have both fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the streams, from all the swarming things of the water and from all the living creatures that are in the water, are detestable to you.

When the living beings moved, the wheels moved, and when they stopped moving, the wheels stopped. ¹  When they rose up from the ground, the wheels rose up from the ground; the wheels rose up beside them because the spirit of the living being was in the wheel.

God said, “Let the water swarm with swarms ¹  of living creatures and let birds fly ²  above the earth across the expanse of the sky.”

Wild animals will rest there, the ruined ¹  houses will be full of hyenas. ²  Ostriches will live there, wild goats will skip among the ruins. ³ 

In the fire ¹  were what looked like ²  four living beings. ³  In their appearance they had human form, ⁴ 

By his sovereign plan he gave us birth ¹  through the message of truth, that we would be a kind of firstfruits of all he created.

And whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, ¹  and thanks to the one who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

Then ¹  one of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath ²  of God who lives forever and ever,

The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures threw themselves to the ground ¹  and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne, saying: “Amen! Hallelujah!”

You crushed the heads of Leviathan; ¹  you fed ²  him to the people who live along the coast. ³ 

But ¹  these men, ²  like irrational animals – creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed ³  – do not understand whom ⁴  they are insulting, and consequently ⁵  in their destruction they will be destroyed, ⁶ 

These were the living creatures ¹  which I saw at the Kebar River underneath the God of Israel; I knew that they were cherubim.

Over here is the deep, wide sea, ¹  which teems with innumerable swimming creatures, ²  living things both small and large.
