For the love of Christ ¹  controls us, since we have concluded this, that Christ ²  died for all; therefore all have died.

Do you know how God commands them, ¹  how he makes lightning flash in his storm cloud? ² 

Better to be slow to anger ¹  than to be a mighty warrior, and one who controls his temper ²  is better than ³  one who captures a city. ⁴ 

For the outlook ¹  of the flesh is death, but the outlook of the Spirit is life and peace,

For he fulfills his decree against me, ¹  and many such things are his plans. ² 

The law of their God controls their thinking; ¹  their ²  feet do not slip.

But the fruit of the Spirit ¹  is love, ²  joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ³ 

As for ¹  the woman you saw, she is the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth.”

And if we put bits into the mouths of horses to get them to obey us, then we guide their entire bodies. ¹ 

Although these false teachers promise ¹  such people ²  freedom, they themselves are enslaved to ³  immorality. ⁴  For whatever a person succumbs to, to that he is enslaved. ⁵ 

Their wicked deeds do not allow them to return to their God; because a spirit of idolatry ¹  controls their heart, ²  and they do not acknowledge the Lord.

You, however, are not in ¹  the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, this person does not belong to him.

Instead, you have exalted yourself against the Lord of heaven. You brought before you the vessels from his temple, and you and your nobles, together with your wives and concubines, drank wine from them. You praised the gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone – gods ¹  that cannot see or hear or comprehend! But you have not glorified the God who has in his control ²  your very breath and all your ways!
