“Separate yourselves ¹  from among this community, ²  that I may consume them in an instant.”

“You will take much seed to the field but gather little harvest, because locusts will consume it.

but only a certain fearful expectation of judgment and a fury ¹  of fire that will consume God’s enemies. ² 

Angrily wipe them out! Wipe them out so they vanish! Let them know that God rules in Jacob and to the ends of the earth! (Selah)

The drought as well as the heat carry away the melted snow; ¹  so the grave ²  takes away those who have sinned. ³ 

“Get away from this community, so that I can consume them in an instant!” But they threw themselves down with their faces to the ground. ¹ 

Now when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, “Lord, do you want us to call fire to come down from heaven and consume ¹  them?” ² 

Total darkness waits to receive his treasures; ¹  a fire which has not been kindled ²  will consume him and devour what is left in his tent.

But now, why should we die, because this intense fire will consume us! If we keep hearing the voice of the Lord our God we will die!

For the company of the godless is barren, ¹  and fire ²  consumes the tents of those who accept bribes. ³ 

The words of a wise person ¹  win him ²  favor, ³  but the words ⁴  of a fool are self-destructive. ⁵ 

“I will set fire to the walls of Damascus; it will burn up the palaces of Ben Hadad.” ¹ 

His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal ¹  for your house will devour me.” ² 

Whirring locusts ¹  will take over every tree and all the produce of your soil.

So I will set Gaza’s city wall ¹  on fire; fire ²  will consume her fortresses.

So I will set fire to Tyre’s city wall; ¹  fire ²  will consume her fortresses.”

So I will set Teman ¹  on fire; fire ²  will consume Bozrah’s ³  fortresses.”

So I will set Judah on fire, and it will consume Jerusalem’s fortresses.” ¹ 

You burn them up like a fiery furnace ¹  when you appear; ²  the Lord angrily devours them; ³  the fire consumes them.

A sword will flash in their cities, it will destroy the bars of their city gates, and will devour them in their fortresses.
