For I am aware of ¹  my rebellious acts; I am forever conscious of my sin. ² 

For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. The one who judges me is the Lord.

When Jesus was aware ¹  that his disciples were complaining ²  about this, he said to them, “Does this cause you to be offended? ³ 

For no one is declared righteous before him ¹  by the works of the law, ²  for through the law comes ³  the knowledge of sin.

“Yes, I know what you are thinking, ¹  the schemes ²  by which you would wrong me. ³ 

Most excellent Felix, ¹  we acknowledge this everywhere and in every way ²  with all gratitude. ³ 

For this reason do not be foolish, but be wise ¹  by understanding ²  what the Lord’s will is.

We know, ¹  brothers and sisters ²  loved by God, that he has chosen you, ³

But we know that the law is good if someone uses it legitimately,

You know ¹  that such a person is twisted by sin ²  and is conscious of it himself. ³ 

For the living know that they will die, but the dead do not know anything; they have no further reward – and even the memory of them disappears. ¹ 

(Now ¹  they did not know that Joseph could understand them, ²  for he was speaking through an interpreter.) ³ 

“‘If any person ¹  sins unintentionally, then he must bring a yearling female goat for a purification offering.

If ¹  his sons are honored, ²  he does not know it; ³  if they are brought low, he does not see ⁴  it.

But even if it were ¹  true that I have erred, ²  my error ³  remains solely my concern!

“For God speaks, the first time in one way, the second time in another, though a person does not perceive ¹  it.

Have you ever in your life ¹  commanded the morning, or made the dawn know ²  its place,

The Lord repaid ¹  me for my godly deeds; ²  he rewarded ³  my blameless behavior. ⁴ 

Yes, your servant finds moral guidance there; ¹  those who obey them receive a rich reward. ²
