For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner without clearly indicating ¹  the charges against him.”

If ¹  God ²  puts no trust in ³  his servants ⁴  and attributes ⁵  folly ⁶  to his angels,

So Pilate asked him again, ¹  “Have you nothing to say? See how many charges they are bringing against you!”

Then the high priest said, “Are these things true?” ¹ 

But there are some Jews from the province of Asia ¹  who should be here before you and bring charges, ²  if they have anything against me.

So the chief priests and the most prominent men ¹  of the Jews brought formal charges ²  against Paul to him.

nor can they prove ¹  to you the things ²  they are accusing me of doing. ³ 

“So, once more I will state my case ¹  against you,” says the Lord. “I will also state it against your children and grandchildren. ² 

When he arrived, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around him, ¹  bringing many serious ²  charges that they were not able to prove. ³ 

If then Demetrius and the craftsmen who are with him have a complaint ¹  against someone, the courts are open ²  and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another there. ³ 

But Festus, ¹  wanting to do the Jews a favor, asked Paul, “Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and be tried ²  before me there on these charges?” ³ 

It ¹  paws the ground in the valley, ²  exulting mightily, ³  it goes out to meet the weapons.

After five days the high priest Ananias ¹  came down with some elders and an attorney ²  named ³  Tertullus, and they ⁴  brought formal charges ⁵  against Paul to the governor.

Because I was at a loss ¹  how I could investigate these matters, ²  I asked if he were willing to go to Jerusalem and be tried ³  there on these charges. ⁴ 

Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

From the city the dying ¹  groan, and the wounded ²  cry out for help, but God charges no one with wrongdoing. ³ 

“So,” he said, “let your leaders ¹  go down there ²  with me, and if this man has done anything wrong, ³  they may bring charges ⁴  against him.”

When I was in Jerusalem, ¹  the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed ²  me about him, ³  asking for a sentence of condemnation ⁴  against him.

accusing her of impropriety ¹  and defaming her reputation ²  by saying, “I married this woman but when I had sexual relations ³  with her I discovered she was not a virgin!”

and said to them, “You brought me this man as one who was misleading ¹  the people. When I examined him before you, I ²  did not find this man guilty ³  of anything you accused him of doing.
