A craftsman casts ¹  an idol; a metalsmith overlays it with gold and forges silver chains for it.

The Lord lifts up the oppressed, but knocks ¹  the wicked to the ground.

But the Pharisees ¹  said, “By the ruler ²  of demons he casts out demons.” ³ 

one who casts spells, ¹  one who conjures up spirits, ²  a practitioner of the occult, ³  or a necromancer. ⁴ 

Laziness brings on ¹  a deep sleep, ²  and the idle person ³  will go hungry. ⁴ 

So if ¹  Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

But some of them said, “By the power of Beelzebul, ¹  the ruler ²  of demons, he casts out demons.”

He throws his hailstones ¹  like crumbs. Who can withstand the cold wind he sends? ² 

Who forms a god and casts an idol that will prove worthless? ¹ 

The experts in the law ¹  who came down from Jerusalem ²  said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” ³  and, “By the ruler ⁴  of demons he casts out demons.”

The wealth that he consumed ¹  he vomits up, God will make him throw it out ²  of his stomach.

Indeed, ¹  the Lord knocks down those who live in a high place, he brings down an elevated town; he brings it down to the ground, ²  he throws it down to the dust.

But when the Pharisees ¹  heard this they said, “He does not cast out demons except by the power of Beelzebul, ²  the ruler ³  of demons!”

‘Cursed is the one ¹  who makes a carved or metal image – something abhorrent ²  to the Lord, the work of the craftsman ³  – and sets it up in a secret place.’ Then all the people will say, ‘Amen!’ ⁴ 

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. ¹  The ²  one who fears punishment ³  has not been perfected in love.

God abandons me to evil ¹  men, ²  and throws ³  me into the hands of wicked men.

His vigorous steps ¹  are restricted, ²  and his own counsel throws him down. ³ 

Like a madman ¹  who shoots firebrands and deadly arrows, ² 

The Lord satisfies ¹  the appetite ²  of the righteous, but he thwarts ³  the craving ⁴  of the wicked.

The Righteous One ¹  considers ²  the house ³  of the wicked; he overthrows the wicked to their ruin. ⁴
