If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw, ¹ 

Every wise woman ¹  builds ²  her household, ³  but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.

The one who builds a city by bloodshed is as good as dead ¹  – he who starts ²  a town by unjust deeds.

A song of ascents, ²  by Solomon. If the Lord does not build a house, ³  then those who build it work in vain. If the Lord does not guard a city, ⁴  then the watchman stands guard in vain.

when the Lord rebuilds Zion, and reveals his splendor,

He builds the upper rooms of his palace ¹  in heaven and sets its foundation supports ²  on the earth. ³  He summons the water of the sea and pours it out on the earth’s surface. The Lord is his name.

“‘This is because they have led my people astray saying, “All is well,” ¹  when things are not well. When anyone builds a wall without mortar, ²  they coat it with whitewash.

The one who builds his house by unjust gain is as good as dead. ¹  He does this so he can build his nest way up high and escape the clutches of disaster. ² 

He makes nations great, ¹  and destroys them; he extends the boundaries of nations and disperses ²  them. ³ 

The household ¹  of the wicked will be destroyed, but the tent ²  of the upright will flourish.

A king brings stability ¹  to a land ²  by justice, but one who exacts tribute ³  tears it down.

Even the birds find a home there, and the swallow ¹  builds a nest, where she can protect her young ²  near your altars, O Lord who rules over all, my king and my God.

From him the whole body grows, fitted and held together ¹  through every supporting ligament. ²  As each one does its part, the body grows in love.
