Meanwhile Saul, still breathing out threats ¹  to murder ²  the Lord’s disciples, went to the high priest

Do not turn me over to my enemies, ¹  for false witnesses who want to destroy me testify against me. ² 

You heard ¹  my plea: ²  “Do not close your ears to my cry for relief!” ³ 

Indeed, ¹  you are ²  my shelter, a strong tower that protects me from the enemy. ³ 

a false witness who pours out lies, ¹  and a person who spreads discord ²  among family members. ³ 

The faithful witness ¹  tells what is right, ²  but a false witness ³  speaks ⁴  deceit.

A truthful witness ¹  does not lie, but a false witness ²  breathes out lies. ³ 

We are pursued – they are breathing down our necks; ¹  we are weary and have no rest. ² 

After this ¹  the son of the woman who owned the house got sick. His illness was so severe he could no longer breathe.

Everything on dry land that had the breath of life ¹  in its nostrils died.

Will you never ¹  look away from me, ²  will you not let me alone ³  long enough to swallow my spittle?

in whose hand ¹  is the life ²  of every creature and the breath of all the human race. ³ 

at the scent ¹  of water it will flourish ²  and put forth ³  shoots like a new plant.

Her ¹  spirit returned, ²  and she got up immediately. Then ³  he told them to give her something to eat.

And after he said this, he breathed on them and said, ¹  “Receive the Holy Spirit. ² 

But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, ¹  he hardened ²  his heart and did not listen to them, just as the Lord had predicted. ³
