When you come, bring with you the cloak I left in Troas with Carpas and the scrolls, especially the parchments.

Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. ¹  There is no end to the making ²  of many books, and much study is exhausting to the body. ³ 

And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. Then ¹  books were opened, and another book was opened – the book of life. ²  So ³  the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to their deeds. ⁴ 

Large numbers ¹  of those who had practiced magic ²  collected their books ³  and burned them up in the presence of everyone. ⁴  When ⁵  the value of the books was added up, it was found to total fifty thousand silver coins. ⁶ 

A river of fire was streaming forth and proceeding from his presence. Many thousands were ministering to him; Many tens of thousands stood ready to serve him. ¹  The court convened ²  and the books were opened.

There are many other things that Jesus did. If every one of them were written down, ¹  I suppose the whole world ²  would not have room for the books that would be written. ³ 

in the first year of his reign ¹  I, Daniel, came to understand from the sacred books ²  that, according to the word of the LORD ³  disclosed to the prophet Jeremiah, the years for the fulfilling of the desolation of Jerusalem ⁴  were seventy in number.

For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John appeared. ¹ 

But I confess this to you, that I worship ¹  the God of our ancestors ²  according to the Way (which they call a sect), believing everything that is according to the law ³  and that is written in the prophets.

From there they attacked the people of Debir. ¹  (Debir used to be called Kiriath Sepher.)

That day ¹  – let it be darkness; ²  let not God on high regard ³  it, nor let light shine ⁴  on it!

then what will I do when God confronts me in judgment; ¹  when he intervenes, ²  how will I respond to him?

You are aware of our sins; ¹  you even know about our hidden sins. ² 

The one who says to the guilty, ¹  “You are innocent,” ²  peoples will curse him, and nations will denounce ³  him.

Then the Jewish leaders ¹  were astonished ²  and said, “How does this man know so much when he has never had formal instruction?” ³ 

so that he may initiate a search of the records ¹  of his predecessors ²  and discover in those records ³  that this city is rebellious ⁴  and injurious to both kings and provinces, producing internal revolts ⁵  from long ago. ⁶  It is for this very reason that this city was destroyed.

So Darius the king issued orders, and they searched in the archives ¹  of the treasury which were deposited there in Babylon.

They say, “Come on, let’s annihilate them so they are no longer a nation! ¹  Then the name of Israel will be remembered no more.”

None of the sins he has committed will be counted ¹  against him. He has done what is just and right; he will certainly live.

Then ¹  beginning with Moses and all the prophets, ²  he interpreted to them the things written about ³  himself in all the scriptures.
