“Tell ¹  Eleazar son of Aaron the priest to pick up ²  the censers out of the flame, for they are holy, and then scatter the coals of fire ³  at a distance.

For fire went out from Heshbon, a flame from the city of Sihon. It has consumed Ar of Moab and the lords ¹  of the high places of Arnon.

Its breath sets coals ablaze and a flame shoots from its mouth.

A wicked scoundrel ¹  digs up ²  evil, and his slander ³  is like a scorching fire. ⁴ 

But if not, may fire blaze from Abimelech and consume the leaders of Shechem and Beth Millo! May fire also blaze from the leaders of Shechem and Beth Millo and consume Abimelech!”

His eyes are like a fiery ¹  flame and there are many diadem crowns ²  on his head. He has ³  a name written ⁴  that no one knows except himself.

So he called the name of that place Taberah ¹  because there the fire of the Lord burned among them.

When Israel joined themselves to Baal-peor, ¹  the anger of the Lord flared up against Israel.

Moreover, you continued to provoke the Lord at Taberah, ¹  Massah, ²  and Kibroth-Hattaavah. ³ 

For it is right ¹  for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,

His ¹  head and hair were as white as wool, even as white as snow, ²  and his eyes were like a fiery ³  flame.

and my anger will burn and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives will be widows and your children will be fatherless. ¹ 

So now, leave me alone ¹  so that my anger can burn against them and I can destroy them, and I will make from you a great nation.”

Aaron said, “Do not let your anger burn hot, my lord; ¹  you know these people, that they tend to evil. ² 

You will be responsible for the care of the sanctuary and the care of the altar, so that there will be ¹  no more wrath on the Israelites.

They surrounded me like bees. But they disappeared as quickly ¹  as a fire among thorns. ²  Indeed, in the name of the Lord I pushed them away.

As ¹  I was en route and near Damascus, ²  about noon a very bright ³  light from heaven ⁴  suddenly flashed ⁵  around me.

about noon along the road, Your Majesty, ¹  I saw a light from heaven, ²  brighter than the sun, shining everywhere around ³  me and those traveling with me.

But because of your stubbornness ¹  and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath for yourselves in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed! ² 

For you have not come to something that can be touched, ¹  to a burning fire and darkness and gloom and a whirlwind
