Better is open ¹  rebuke than hidden ²  love.

The end of a matter ¹  is better than its beginning; likewise, patience ²  is better than pride. ³ 

For her ¹  benefit ²  is more profitable ³  than silver, and her ⁴  gain ⁵  is better ⁶  than gold.

Sorrow ¹  is better than laughter, because sober reflection ²  is good for the heart. ³ 

A good reputation ¹  is better ²  than precious ³  perfume; ⁴  likewise, ⁵  the day of one’s ⁶  death ⁷  is better than the day of one’s birth. ⁸ 

It is better to take shelter ¹  in the Lord than to trust in people.

It is better to take shelter in the Lord than to trust in princes.

Better to have a little with righteousness ¹  than to have abundant income without justice. ² 

Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity ¹  than one who is perverse in his speech ²  and is a fool. ³ 

It is better for you not to vow than to vow and not pay it. ¹ 

accordingly Jesus has become the guarantee ¹  of a better covenant.

But ¹  now Jesus ²  has obtained a superior ministry, since ³  the covenant that he mediates is also better and is enacted ⁴  on better promises. ⁵ 

The little bit that a godly man owns is better than the wealth of many evil men, ¹ 

Because ¹  experiencing ²  your loyal love is better than life itself, my lips will praise you.

Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner can destroy much that is good.

My fruit is better than the purest gold, ¹  and what I produce ²  is better than choice silver.

Better is a person of humble standing ¹  who nevertheless has a servant, ²  than one who pretends to be somebody important ³  yet has no food.

Better ¹  is little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth and turmoil ²  with it. ³ 

Better a meal of vegetables where there is love ¹  than a fattened ox where there is hatred. ² 

It is better to be lowly in spirit ¹  with the afflicted than to share the spoils ²  with the proud.
