and Judas Iscariot, ¹  who betrayed him. ² 

Simon the Zealot ¹  and Judas Iscariot, ²  who betrayed him. ³ 

(Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, knew the place too, because Jesus had met there many times ¹  with his disciples.) ² 

When ¹  they gathered together in Galilee, Jesus told them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men. ² 

You will be betrayed even by parents, ¹  brothers, relatives, ²  and friends, and they will have some of you put to death.

For the Son of Man is to go just as it has been determined, ¹  but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!”

He came a third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? ¹  Enough of that! ²  The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

If I had publicized these thoughts, ¹  I would have betrayed your loyal followers. ² 

Then he came to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is approaching, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.

Now when ¹  Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus ²  had been condemned, he regretted what he had done and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders,

“Take these words to heart, ¹  for the Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men.” ² 

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night in which he was betrayed took bread,

“Look, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the chief priests and the experts in the law. ¹  They will condemn him to death,

They replied, ¹  “Jesus the Nazarene.” He told them, “I am he.” (Now Judas, the one who betrayed him, was standing there with them.) ² 

The Son of Man will go as it is written about him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would be better for him if he had never been born.”

He ¹  attacks ²  his friends; ³  he breaks his solemn promises to them. ⁴ 

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood!” But they said, “What is that to us? You take care of it yourself!”
