As ¹  Jesus ²  approached ³  Jericho, ⁴  a blind man was sitting by the road begging.

I was once young, now I am old. I have never seen a godly man abandoned, or his children ¹  forced to search for food. ² 

begging us with great earnestness for the blessing and fellowship of helping ¹  the saints.

Now ¹  a leper ²  came to him and fell to his knees, asking for help. “If ³  you are willing, you can make me clean,” he said.

Will it make numerous supplications to you, ¹  will it speak to you with tender words? ² 

and they recognized him as the man who used to sit and ask for donations ¹  at the Beautiful Gate of the temple, and they were filled with astonishment and amazement ²  at what had happened to him.

May his children ¹  roam around begging, asking for handouts as they leave their ruined home! ² 

They came to Jericho. ¹  As Jesus ²  and his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the road.

The woman was a Greek, of Syrophoenician origin. She ¹  asked him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go ¹  with him, but Jesus ²  sent him away, saying,

Then the neighbors and the people who had seen him previously ¹  as a beggar began saying, ²  “Is this not the man ³  who used to sit and beg?”

Even some of the provincial authorities ¹  who were his friends sent ²  a message ³  to him, urging him not to venture ⁴  into the theater.

When he entered Capernaum, ¹  a centurion ²  came to him asking for help: ³ 

He begged Jesus ¹  repeatedly not to send them out of the region.

And they began to beg ¹  him not to order ²  them to depart into the abyss. ³ 

But at his gate lay ¹  a poor man named Lazarus ²  whose body was covered with sores, ³ 

Then Esther again spoke with the king, falling at his feet. She wept and begged him for mercy, that he might nullify the evil of Haman the Agagite which he had intended against the Jews. ¹ 

His sons must recompense ¹  the poor; his own hands ²  must return his wealth.

Give to the one who asks you, ¹  and do not reject ²  the one who wants to borrow from you.

When ¹  they came to the crowd, a man came to him, knelt before him,
