These ¹  are the twelve tribes of Israel. This is what their father said to them when he blessed them. He gave each of them an appropriate blessing. ² 

You godly ones, shout for joy because of the Lord! It is appropriate for the morally upright to offer him praise.

Exercise appropriate caution so that there is no negligence in this matter. Why should danger increase to the point that kings sustain damage?”

The matter seemed appropriate to the king and the officials. So the king acted on the advice of Memucan.

A person has joy ¹  in giving an appropriate answer, ²  and a word at the right time ³  – how good it is!

Luxury is not appropriate ¹  for a fool; ²  how much less for a servant to rule over princes! ³
