With pride ¹  comes only ²  contention, but wisdom is with the well-advised. ³

When it became the turn of Esther daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai (who had raised her as if she were his own daughter ¹ ) to go to the king, she did not request anything except what Hegai the king’s eunuch, who was overseer of the women, had recommended. Yet Esther met with the approval of all who saw her.

There is no wisdom and there is no understanding, and there is no counsel against ¹  the Lord. ² 

So Hushai came to Absalom. Absalom said to him, “Here is what Ahithophel has advised. Should we follow his advice? If not, what would you recommend?”

Because the harbor was not suitable to spend the winter in, the majority decided ¹  to put out to sea ²  from there. They hoped that ³  somehow they could reach ⁴  Phoenix, ⁵  a harbor of Crete facing ⁶  southwest and northwest, and spend the winter there.

All the leaders and people said to him, “Do not give in or agree to his demands.” ¹ 

He followed in the footsteps of Ahab’s dynasty, ¹  for his mother gave him evil advice. ² 

How you have advised the one without wisdom, and abundantly ¹  revealed your insight!

If you lay your hand on it, you will remember ¹  the fight, and you will never do it again!

With many other words he testified ¹  and exhorted them saying, “Save yourselves from this perverse ²  generation!”

Abner advised ¹  the elders of Israel, “Previously you were wanting David to be your king. ² 

Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Let me pick out twelve thousand men. Then I will go and pursue David this very night.

So Jesus’ brothers ¹  advised him, “Leave here and go to Judea so your disciples may see your miracles that you are performing. ² 

“Therefore be advised ¹  that this salvation from God ²  has been sent to the Gentiles; ³  they ⁴  will listen!” ⁵ 

As I urged you when I was leaving for Macedonia, stay on in Ephesus ¹  to instruct ²  certain people not to spread false teachings, ³ 

Muster an army like the one you lost, with the same number of horses and chariots. ¹  Then we will fight them in the plains; we will certainly overpower them.” He approved their plan and did as they advised. ²
