and ¹  Jason has welcomed them as guests! They ²  are all acting against Caesar’s ³  decrees, saying there is another king named ⁴  Jesus!” ⁵ 

Then the people said to me, “Will you not tell us what these things you are doing mean for us?”

There was no king in Edom at this time; a governor ruled.

If anyone thinks he is acting inappropriately toward his virgin, ¹  if she is past the bloom of youth ²  and it seems necessary, he should do what he wishes; he does not sin. Let them marry.

The plans of the diligent ¹  lead ²  only to plenty, ³  but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. ⁴ 

A proud ¹  and arrogant ²  person, whose name is “Scoffer,” ³  acts ⁴  with overbearing pride. ⁵ 

to deprive a person ¹  of his rights ²  in the presence of the Most High,

Immediately Jesus ¹  sent the man ²  away with a very strong warning.

You fools! ¹  Didn’t the one who made the outside make the inside as well? ² 

treacherous, reckless, conceited, loving pleasure rather than loving God.
